Firecracker 5K

On July 3rd I woke up early to go for a run before work and after work I lifted weights and went for a bike ride.  I typically have an easy workout or a rest day before an event but I completely forgot about the Firecracker 5K.  The race is held on the 4th of July before the start of the Marple-Newtown 4th of July parade.  Since I knew there would be lots of people with cameras watching the race I decided to run in my pajamas even though it was a hot and humid day.

This wasn't my fastest 5K race by a long shot.  I didn't finish in first place and I didn't finish in first place in my age group either.  But, I'd like to think I finished first in the pajama category since I didn't see anyone else wearing pajamas.  The heat took it's toll on all of the racers and everyone I spoke to after the race said they ran a slow race.
